Importance of Regular Diabetic Complication Screening
Diabetic complications are common in diabetes patients. About seventy percent of diabetic patients have peripheral neuropathy (diabetic foot disease). One-third of diabetic patients develop diabetic nephropathy (diabetic kidney disease). One-fourth of newly diagnosed diabetes have diabetic retinopathy (diabetic eye disease). Early stage of diabetic complication is usually asymptomatic; only with early detection through regular screening can these be picked up for early prevention and prompt treatment.
